Reporting the news:
What it takes to get it right

Credible journalists bring you the best, most accurate and trustworthy information they can. Their final stories — the ones you read — look easy-peasy to put together. Like it’s magic. But it’s not. And the process shouldn’t be a mystery to you, either.

An entire team of reporters, editors, photographers, artists and others follow strict guidelines when they report, write, edit, illustrate and design stories to make sure that every fact, quote, punctuation mark or graphic is perfect and doesn’t distort the meaning of the story.

It’s tough, but fun work. Here’s how we get stories to you on paper and on your phone every day.
